"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." - Isaiah 43:18–19
Life has a way of constantly reminding us of yesterday—our regrets, failures, and painful experiences. Many times, the enemy uses these memories to convince us that our future is permanently tied to our past. But God, in His Word, says: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.”
The chains of yesterday—whether they are fear, guilt, rejection, disappointment, or even sin—do not have the authority to define tomorrow. Chains are only temporary; God’s promises are eternal. What the enemy tried to use to hold you down cannot cancel what God has already written concerning your destiny.
Joseph is a perfect example. Though betrayed by his brothers, enslaved, and imprisoned unjustly, the chains of his past did not stop him from becoming the prime minister of Egypt. His story shows us that yesterday’s limitations cannot hinder tomorrow’s elevation.
Beloved, God is declaring to you today: “I am doing a new thing.” That means your tomorrow is not a continuation of your past failures but a fresh unveiling of His divine agenda. The wilderness of yesterday will not stop the rivers God is making to flow in your life today.
So arise with boldness! Refuse to rehearse the pain of yesterday when God is scripting a new chapter of glory for you. Walk with confidence, because the chains that held you yesterday have been broken, and nothing can stop the future God has already prepared.
Your past is a testimony, your present is a process, and your future is God’s promise in manifestation.
