Ratatata…  The sound rises with urgency, charged with emotion and intensity. It carries the appearance of power, as though every syllable is pushing back against darkness. I have seen it often, people speaking in tongues with the expectation that the devil must flee simply because words are being released. But there is a problem we rarely confront. Spiritual authority is not activated by sound alone. It is sustained by alignment. A life that contradicts the Spirit cannot produce power, no matter how intense the expression may seem. What appears forceful on the outside can be empty at its core. Scripture draws a clear line. If we live in the Spirit, we must also walk in the Spirit. That is not a suggestion, it is a standard. The life must agree with the language. James 1:22 warns against self-deception, hearing without doing. Titus 1:16 exposes the contradiction of professing God while denying Him through actions. 2 Timothy 3:5 goes even further, describing a form of godliness that ...

  I once heard a striking story that has stayed with me ever since. In one of Europe’s museums, there is a famous painting of a man playing chess with the devil. The man looks defeated, his head bowed in despair, while the devil sits proudly, certain of his victory. The painting carries a chilling title: “Checkmate.” According to the artist’s message, the devil had won—the man’s soul was lost. But one day, a chess master stood before the painting and carefully examined the position of the pieces. After studying it for a while, he exclaimed: “Wait! This painting is wrong.
